Foundational ontologies are essential for tackling interoperability problems of systems and software. However, the comparison of different foundational ontologies is itself an interoperability problem. The FOUST 2017 workshop will host world-leading ontologists to discuss the motivations for and relationships between the foundational ontologies BFO, DOLCE, GFO, GUM, UFO, and YAMATO.
The FOUST project aims at collecting and comparing foundational ontologies in a single publication and furthermore to publish authorised copies of formal versions of the ontologies in a common, curated digital library, which will be a repository hosted at ontohub.org.
