Why?

Foundational ontologies are essential for tackling interoperability problems of systems and software. However, the comparison of different foundational ontologies is itself an interoperability problem.

Goals

The FOUST project aims at:

  • Collecting foundational ontologies
  • Comparing foundational ontology
  • Publishing authorised copies of formal versions of the ontologies in a common curated digital library
